Crystal Mountain
is one of the smaller
ski hills in the Okanagan Valley situated near the communities
of Westbank and Peachland which are located south of the community
of Kelowna, BC, Canada.
Crystal Mountain is a winter and summer mountain
recreation destination popular for skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing
in the winter and hiking in the summer. The recreation mountain
has a top top elevation of 1433 m (4700 ft) and covers over 65
hectares of terrain and slopes.
In the winter season skiers and snow boarders
take the short drive up to the ski mountain from Highway #97.
The trails consist of 30% of the ski runs for beginners, 50% for
intermediate and 20% are "Black Diamond" - the most
difficult ski runs on Crystal Mountain.
The popular local ski hill has 2 chair lifts.
At the top of Crystal Mountain is a 232 m (760 ft.) vertical drop.
In total the hill has 24 runs to explore with the longest ski
run around 1600 m (6000 ft.).
Snow boarders will enjoy the small park and pipe
work to play on. Snowshoe enthusiasts will encounter fresh snow
and remote surroundings when exploring the lower slopes of the
mountain.
The ski mountain has a small lodge with a cafe, a ski school
for kids and provides ski and snow board rentals.
